Key Responsibilities

  • •Shape and own the payroll operating model (oversee/approve outsourced service centers, bring payroll in-house end-to-end, or use a mix) and lead the transition.
  • •Build payroll into a tight, reliable, highly automated operation with accuracy and control as the standard.
  • •Own payroll accounting activities (journals, accruals, reconciliations into the GL) and support month-end close.
  • •Drive automation of recurring payroll tasks so work is systematised rather than manual.
  • •Own payroll taxes and compliance, maintain payroll controls/auditable trail, and support external audit while coordinating equity/tax treatment with Finance and Tax.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of payroll experience at senior-manager level, with a proven track record owning payroll end-to-end.
  • •Expert, hands-on Swedish payroll knowledge including Skatteverket employer reporting (AGI), employer contributions, expert tax/SINK, pensions and benefits, plus working knowledge of LAS and BFL.
  • •Strong payroll accounting skills: journals, accruals, reconciliations, month-end close, and correct entity and cost-centre coding.
  • •Experience with equity/share-based compensation payroll and benefit-in-kind taxation.
  • •Comfort operating in ambiguity with an audit-ready, controls-minded approach, and ability to work independently and decide without a team yet.
