Key Responsibilities

  • •Comply with health and safety policies, regulations, and risk assessment requirements.
  • •Resolve breakdowns, carry out PMs, and support project/improvement work to minimize production downtime.
  • •Conduct lock-off and safe isolation/repairs for dangerous machinery and notify relevant parties.
  • •Complete PM sheets and maintain engineering logs/computer systems each shift, including observations, parts, plant numbers, and urgency.
  • •Gather information from production personnel to speed up fault-finding and manage professional communications with external contacts.

Key Requirements

  • •HNC, City & Guilds or time-served apprenticeship with appropriate electrical engineering qualifications.
  • •Proven experience in a similar engineering technician role, ideally in food manufacturing (or other manufacturing).
  • •Electrically biased or multi-skilled experience, with PLC experience highly desirable.
  • •Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems highly desirable.
  • •Flexible, positive “can-do” attitude and ability to work safely and comply with procedures.
