Job Summary

Join the Diavik Diamond Mine project delivery team as an 8-month civil/construction field intern. Help with survey and quality-control work for progressive reclamation, including quantity surveys, layout, earthworks QC, and materials testing. Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, and Operations to track daily activities against design specs, participate in site safety processes, and support equipment tracking via PITRAM to enable month-end reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide survey and quality-control support for progressive reclamation work on site.
•Support quantity surveys, layout, and field supervision of a large-scale earthworks project.
•Perform quality control activities such as materials testing, crush production stockpiling QC, and earthworks construction QC.
•Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, and Operations personnel to track and control daily activities against design details and specifications.
•Participate in site safety and quality control/survey processes and support equipment tracking via PITRAM.

Key Requirements

•Registered in an accredited engineering COOP program and returning to school after the work term.
•At least 2 years completed in Civil, Geotechnical, Geological, Environmental, or Mining Engineering.
•Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
•Excellent communication skills to liaise with consulting engineers, contractors, and management.
•Valid driver’s license; prior experience operating heavy-duty pickup trucks is preferred.
