Key Responsibilities

  • •Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment and company assets while following Tyson policies and procedures.
  • •Perform welding and cutting and carry out minor electrical repairs.
  • •Remove and replace components such as motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, and water/steam pipes.
  • •Monitor boiler and perform chemical tests on the boiler as required.
  • •Read drawings and schematics of hydraulic and basic electrical systems, and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 6 months of mechanical/maintenance skills in the last 24 months, preferably industrial maintenance (and 6 months continuous employment with one employer in the last 24 months).
  • •Must be able to use basic hand tools.
  • •Knowledge of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics, and plumbing.
  • •Ability to read and understand assignments and communicate orally and in writing; respond to a two-way radio.
  • •Must be certified to operate various pieces of gas/hydraulic motors/lifts and be able to meet physical job requirements (e.g., lift 50 pounds; climb stairs/ladders; stand long periods).
