Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and own the architecture of the AI platform and core AI services, guiding how ML, Generative AI, and agentic systems are integrated across products.
  • •Lead the design of enterprise agentic systems, including orchestration, memory, and multi-agent coordination, and evolve Retrieval-Augmented Generation capabilities.
  • •Establish evaluation methods, governance, and quality frameworks for Generative AI applications to ensure reliability and safety at scale.
  • •Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers, raising the technical bar and aligning teams with a shared vision for scalable, secure AI at Workiva.
  • •Collaborate with Product, Security, Infrastructure, and Architecture leaders to ensure enterprise-grade security, availability, and operational excellence.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • •10+ years of software engineering experience, including large-scale SaaS platforms
  • •5+ years designing, deploying, and operating production ML, AI, or data-intensive systems
  • •Strong distributed systems and cloud-native experience
  • •Expert-level Python proficiency and production experience in at least one language such as Java, Go, Scala, or C++
