Key Responsibilities

  • •Set architecture and technical direction for AWS and EKS, including cluster topology, networking, IAM boundaries, and cost.
  • •Audit existing infrastructure, identify what won’t hold, and sequence remediation while the team keeps shipping.
  • •Define infrastructure standards: OpenTofu module structure, state management, deploy contract, and engineering patterns.
  • •Raise operational maturity with SLOs, alerting, incident response, and on-call practices.
  • •Own production stateful systems (Postgres, Redis, and job processing), including upgrades, failover, and capacity.

Key Requirements

  • •3+ years owning production Kubernetes with escalation responsibility for upgrades, control plane, networking, and incidents.
  • •Experience inheriting infrastructure, evaluating what to keep vs. replace, and executing changes without stopping the business.
  • •Infrastructure experience in a small team (five or fewer) where mistakes have real consequences, with limited escalation options.
  • •Hands-on engineering skills: build software such as controllers, CLIs, deploy systems, internal services, and IaC.
  • •Terraform or OpenTofu depth across module design, state management, and drift handling, plus production experience with Postgres.
