Job Summary

Lead mechanical and stress engineering for gas pipeline projects across concept, FEED, detailed design, and construction support. Prepare and review design bases, line lists, and material/valve/construction specifications, perform wall thickness and code compliance checks, and execute piping and pipeline stress analyses in CAESAR II. Evaluate load cases, develop support philosophies, assess interface loads, and review route drawings and 3D outputs to ensure safe, compliant, cost-effective deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare and review gas pipeline design basis, line lists, design criteria, and specifications including materials, valves, construction, and technical data sheets.
•Perform pipeline mechanical design checks including design pressure/temperature basis, wall thickness calculations, corrosion allowance, material selection, class location considerations, and code compliance.
•Carry out piping and pipeline stress analysis using CAESAR II for above-ground and buried piping, compressor station piping, metering station piping, tie-ins, crossings, and critical pipeline interfaces.
•Evaluate sustained, expansion, occasional, and operating load cases (e.g., thermal expansion, pressure, weight, wind, seismic, settlement, slug/PSV reaction, equipment nozzle loads, and anchor/support reactions).
•Develop and review pipe support philosophy and assess interface loads; prepare stress analysis reports and review routing drawings and 3D model outputs from a mechanical/stress perspective.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Pipeline Engineering, Piping Engineering, Energy Engineering, or equivalent.
•Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in gas pipeline engineering, piping engineering, piping stress analysis, or mechanical design (EPC, consultancy, owner’s engineer, or operating company).
•Advanced hands-on experience with CAESAR II for piping stress analysis, including model development, load case preparation, code stress checking, buried pipe modelling, support optimisation, and report preparation.
•Strong knowledge of gas pipeline and piping codes/standards including ASME B31.8, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.1, EN 1594, IGEM/TD/1, API, and ISO.
•Good understanding of gas pipeline systems (e.g., transmission pipelines, high-pressure gas distribution, AGIs, compressor stations, pressure reduction and metering stations, pigging facilities, tie-ins).
