Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the full close cycle end-to-end (GL, AP, AR, payroll accounting, deferred revenue, and reconciliations) and produce GAAP financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • •Own ASC 606 revenue recognition across product lines, including contract review, deferred revenue schedules, and reconciling the ARR waterfall with the VP of Finance.
  • •Build and run AR collections from scratch, including aging management, customer outreach cadences, escalation protocols, DSO tracking, and partnering on billing disputes and cash application.
  • •Design and implement internal controls framework and accounting policies (delegation of authority and spend approval governance) and build audit readiness ahead of audits.
  • •Own accounting systems and automation: evaluate and optimize the accounting tech stack, automate recurring workflows, and serve as primary liaison for auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and corporate counsel.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time as Controller or Assistant Controller at a venture-backed SaaS company; CPA and Big 4 (or regional public accounting) background strongly preferred.
  • •Deep command of US GAAP, including ASC 606 for recurring-revenue environments (multi-element arrangements, non-standard deals, deferred revenue management).
  • •Working knowledge of ASC 718 and equity accounting, including stock option plan administration and cap table coordination.
  • •Demonstrated experience building an accounting function from the ground up: designing policies, establishing controls, and implementing systems.
  • •Hands-on experience with a modern cloud ERP (e.g., Campfire or Rillet) and integrations with billing, CRM, and payroll platforms.
