Job Summary

Seeking a senior partner to own architectural decisions for Zello’s design system across iOS, Android, and React. You’ll drive backlog prioritization, deliver production-quality components and tokens, enforce cross-platform consistency, and collaborate with engineering leads to ensure platform-faithful implementations on a six-month contract with potential for full-time conversion.

Key Responsibilities

•Take architectural ownership of DS work across iOS, Android, and React; make decisions, document tradeoffs, and maintain a current backlog view in Jira.
•Build and ship production-quality Figma components for iOS and Android with platform fidelity, ensuring behavioral accuracy and not just visual resemblance.
•Own the React token pipeline end-to-end: Style Dictionary configuration and Storybook documentation to enable engineering handoff.
•Drive cross-platform consistency audits; identify gaps, resolve conflicts, and document shared conventions that outlast the engagement.
•Contribute to product design — screens, flows, and features — as DS work matures, with platform-appropriate judgment and minimal rework.

Key Requirements

•7+ years of experience in design/system architecture for multi-platform environments (iOS, Android, and React)
•Experience building native UI components with genuine UIKit/SwiftUI fidelity and Android Material Design 3
•Strong ability to own and manage a DS backlog with minimal direction and align cross-functional teams
•Proven ability to document tradeoffs, create standards, and write component documentation that engineers and designers can use
•Portfolio demonstrating product design work alongside DS artifacts and platform-appropriate judgment
