Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform pipe fabrication welds, in-service welds, tie-in welds, and hot taps on natural gas and products steel pipelines up to 42" O.D.
  • •Mobilize, operate, and maintain heavy excavation equipment, including performing excavation on in-service pipeline work.
  • •Read and interpret engineering blueprints; scope, plan, estimate, track costs, and schedule work and resources for projects.
  • •Inspect coating, perform surface preparation, calibrate and maintain holiday detection equipment, and complete ultrasonic thickness examinations.
  • •Perform pipeline pressure tests and related tasks (e.g., evacuate/purge, install hot tap components, repair casings/CP test points, pig launcher/receiver repairs, and install measurement facilities).

Key Requirements

  • •Intermediate or above welding skill level is required.
  • •5 years +/- pipeline experience is needed, including safe handling of flammable gases and high pressure systems (desired).
  • •Must be able to read blueprints and other construction documentation and use power and hand tools.
  • •Must have competency in math and good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • •Must be a qualified welder able to weld according to API Standard 1104 and be able to obtain and maintain DOT operational qualifications; a valid driver’s license is necessary.
