Key Responsibilities

  • •Carry out maintenance fault diagnosis and repair of mechanical equipment and components, including strip-down and rebuilding of equipment such as cranes, winches, pumps, compressors, valves, and machine tools.
  • •Ensure required spare parts are available in advance to reduce duplicate procurement and downtime.
  • •Maintain and repair syncrolift and rexroth shiplifts, including lower/upper sheave, gear box overhauling, and wire rope replacement.
  • •Install mechanical plants and equipment.
  • •Maintain working relationships with workers, foremen, supervisors, and management; perform Foreman duties when appointed; maintain housekeeping and work within allocated timescales.

  • •Ability to diagnose faults and repair mechanical equipment and components using systematic strip-down and rebuilding methods.
  • •Experience maintaining and repairing syncrolift and rexroth shiplifts, including lower/upper sheave work, gear box overhauling, and wire rope replacement.
  • •Experience performing maintenance and repairing mechanical plants and equipment such as cranes, winches, pumps, compressors, valves, and machine tools.
  • •Ability to install mechanical plants and equipment.
  • •Ability to work within allocated timescales, attend required training, and maintain materials to the required standard prior to use.
