Job Summary

Serve as the owner’s primary on-site representative at the Round Top project in Sierra Blanca, Texas. During early works, you will oversee daily contractor field operations, verify work against drawings and schedules, enforce HSE and MSHA requirements, and maintain detailed field reporting. As mining begins, you will provide permanent operational oversight of the mining contractor, monitoring production, safety, drill and blast execution, and equipment utilization while escalating issues to the Director of Mining Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee contractor field operations daily during early works and pre-construction, including earthworks, access roads, site grading, and pad construction.
•Verify contractor work conforms to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules; conduct daily inspections and document observations, progress, and non-conformances.
•Enforce project Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards and MSHA regulations, and maintain accurate daily field reports, photo documentation, and site logs.
•During mining operations, oversee the mining contractor’s day-to-day performance against production targets, schedules, and safety standards.
•Act as liaison between project leadership and contractor site leadership, monitor drill and blast execution and load/haul cycles, and escalate issues to the Director of Mining Engineering.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Minimum 7–10 years of field experience in open-pit mining or heavy earthworks construction.
•Experience overseeing contractors or subcontractors in a supervisory or field representative capacity.
•Strong understanding of open-pit mining operations including drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, and waste management.
•Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and quantity measurement methods.
•Working knowledge of MSHA regulations and site safety practices, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
