Job Summary

Coordinate technical engineering between design oversight and construction execution for the Amtrak B&P Tunnel Replacement (BPTR) program. Independently review and resolve technical issues across construction submittals, RFIs, design clarifications, and field changes across multiple GMP packages. Validate DJV/EOR responses, support RFC documentation, lead technical discussions, maintain submittal/RFI tracking, and ensure design intent alignment while supporting approvals with permitting and AHJs.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a senior technical reviewer for construction submittals, RFIs, design clarifications, shop drawings, and technical queries.
•Review and validate DJV and EOR technical responses for impacts to scope, schedule, cost, safety, and field feasibility.
•Resolve technical issues from field conditions and proposed changes, escalating only the most complex issues to the Design Oversight Lead.
•Support RFC drawings/documentation issuance and provide engineering support during construction to maintain design intent.
•Oversee submittal and RFI processing lifecycle, manage engineering logs/dashboards, and coordinate technical discussions and review comment resolution.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 140,000 - 220,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience (or equivalent education/experience).
•Professional engineer with deep experience in both design and construction, able to independently resolve technical issues on submittals and RFIs.
•Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
•Preferred: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
•Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, rail, tunnel, or heavy civil projects, including familiarity with alternate delivery methods (CMAR, Design-Build, P3).
