Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform physical design implementation for custom CPU designs, transforming RTL into a manufacturing-ready design database.
  • •Execute physical design flow activities including floor planning, synthesis, place and route, clock tree synthesis, static timing analysis, and power/clock distribution and noise analysis.
  • •Conduct verification and signoff processes such as formal equivalence verification, reliability verification, layout verification, and structural design checking.
  • •Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize CPU microarchitectures for power, area, and frequency improvements.
  • •Build and refine physical design methodologies and work with EDA vendors to improve tool capabilities and analyze results for optimization recommendations.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering (or related) with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's with 4+ years, or a PhD with 2+ years.
  • •Experience with physical design EDA tools such as Synopsys Fusion Compiler or Cadence Genus/Innovus (or equivalent).
  • •Experience using scripting languages (TCL, Perl, Python) to automate tools and explore designs.
  • •Experience in backend physical design workflows including constraints management, clock tree synthesis, static timing analysis, and layout verification.
  • •Completion of at least one tape-out on advanced process nodes; plus experience with RTL-to-GDS automation and/or AI/ML-based automatic place-and-route methods.
