Job Summary

Build robust integration processes for DoorDash Labs platforms by coordinating mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software systems. Define subsystem interface contracts, design and run HIL systems and physical test benches, and implement automated validation sequences across vehicle subsystems. Lead cross-boundary debugging, identify integration gaps impacting safety and performance, and document procedures, results, and platform readiness for downstream validation and manufacturing. Report to the Autonomy Platform Lead.

Key Responsibilities

•Define subsystem interface contracts, integration risks, dependencies, and system-level validation checks to support early integration of new subsystem designs.
•Design and build HIL systems and physical test benches, including wiring harnesses, for development and integrated platform testing.
•Implement automated test sequences and validation procedures to stress-test integrated platform behavior across batteries, drivetrain, thermal management, sensors, controls, and embedded systems.
•Lead system-level debugging when issues cross subsystem boundaries or the root cause can’t be isolated by a single team.
•Document integration procedures, test results, known issues, and platform readiness for downstream validation and manufacturing teams.

Salary: USD 170,000 - 250,000 annually

Key Requirements

•BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
•5+ years of experience in hardware/software integration, system integration, vehicle bring-up, or hardware validation for robotics or autonomous vehicles.
•Proven ability to troubleshoot complex physical systems, root-cause signal integrity issues, and diagnose electrical and communication faults.
•Experience with basic scripting for executing tests, logging data, and running diagnostics (e.g., Python or Linux shell scripts).
•Solid understanding of digital electronics, buses (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN), and embedded peripherals for hardware-level troubleshooting.
