Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop secure, well-tested, performant TypeScript features of moderate scope across frontend and backend systems.
  • •Ship small improvements with minimal guidance, writing tests for each merge request and contributing to code reviews and design discussions.
  • •Extract and publish versioned TypeScript packages from the GitLab Language Server, migrating consumers incrementally to avoid drift.
  • •Design durable public APIs with clear interfaces, semantic versioning, changelogs, and deprecation paths for external consumers.
  • •Build and improve SDK client surfaces (including Vue 3 components for Duo Chat) and strengthen credential handling and browser performance for consumers.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong proficiency in TypeScript across frontend and backend, including experience building and maintaining Node.js services.
  • •Experience with modern build and packaging tools such as monorepos, multi-module builds, ECMAScript modules (ESM), and dependency management.
  • •Experience with Vue 3 and the Composition API (or comparable component-based frontend experience) and willingness to learn Vue.
  • •Ability to design APIs other people use, explaining tradeoffs and differences in approach, with clear communication.
  • •Security-minded development with careful credential handling and performance optimization, plus effective writing and collaboration in agile.
