Job Summary

Lead day-to-day management and vision for a Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) engineering team, driving client relationships and brand presence across the South Region. Own team-level budget performance, MEP budget planning, forecasting, and profitable work-winning. Partner with regional leadership to implement strategic initiatives, oversee pipeline and operational management, and serve as key client contact. Support major projects from airports to hospitals, while mentoring engineers and collaborating with BIM and sustainability specialists.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide day-to-day management, vision, values, and leadership for the team, fostering team spirit and cooperation.
•Develop client relationships and strengthen the brand across the South Region, acting as the client’s key point of contact.
•Meet monthly and annual team budgets through MEP budget planning, improving performance, and maintaining up-to-date forecasting for the team and wider MEP region.
•Oversee team performance, including work pipeline, finance, and operational management.
•Collaborate with regional director and senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives, sharing knowledge and technical skills across the wider business.

Key Requirements

•Experience in business development and managing large teams of MEP professionals.
•Proven track record as a Technical Director or Director (or experienced Associate Director seeking to step up) within an engineering consultancy.
•Experience in building services design across mechanical, electrical, and sustainable buildings from concept through technical design stages, including aviation projects.
•Ability to lead as a self-motivated team leader who drives efficiencies and growth.
•Either chartership through CIBSE/IET/IMechE Engineering Council or willingness to work towards it, and ability to obtain UK Security Check (SC) vetting level.
