Job Summary

Provide legal counsel to the International Networks & Direct-to-Consumer business in EMEA, supporting drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts and advising on broadcast regulation, regulatory policy, and programming rights. Work closely with the International Networks & DTC Legal team in London, Paris, and Madrid, supervise the Associate Legal Counsel in Madrid, and coordinate with relevant authorities to ensure compliance, including required regulatory filings and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

•Draft and negotiate contracts for Iberia and the wider EMEA business, including channel distribution, programme acquisitions, ad sales, sponsorship and client partnerships, marketing services, and technical operations.
•Advise the business on broadcast regulation and regulatory policy (e.g., content ratings, protection of minors, European Works quotas, advertising rules), coordinating with Government Affairs and Content Compliance teams as needed.
•Support Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel in liaising with relevant authorities (e.g., CNMC, Spanish AVMS registry) to ensure regulatory compliance.
•Advise internal stakeholders on programming rights and restrictions.
•Supervise and train the Associate Legal Counsel in Madrid, including coordinating and submitting regulatory filings and working with lawyers in London and Paris on ad-hoc matters.

Key Requirements

•Certified to practise law in Spain, with around 5+ years’ post-graduation legal experience, and eligible to work in Spain.
•Essential experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
•Strong understanding of intellectual property rights.
•Excellent communication skills with accuracy and attention to detail in both Spanish and English.
•Fluent English (written and spoken); knowledge of French is a plus.
