Key Responsibilities

  • •Collect, analyze, and model rock mass and geotechnical monitoring data to support mining-related understanding and orebody knowledge.
  • •Develop, calibrate, and apply numerical and analytical geotechnical models; interpret results and support excavation stability and mine design optimization.
  • •Perform geotechnical engineering work for safety and regulatory compliance, including geotechnical risk assessments, hazard management, and triggers monitoring.
  • •Maintain, review, and continuously improve geotechnical design standards, procedures, and processes; lead geotechnical cell mapping campaigns.
  • •Manage study scopes by overseeing schedules, budgets, and deliverables; provide technical support to operational teams and feedback to internal and consultant teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical, Geological, Mining, or Civil Engineering (or related) plus 7 years of related operating and technical experience.
  • •7 years of experience processing, analyzing, and modelling geotechnical rock mass and monitoring data, including interpreting responses to mining for excavation stability and design optimization.
  • •7 years of experience with geotechnical engineering and open-pit design across prefeasibility, feasibility, and operational stages, including stability assessments.
  • •Experience ensuring safety compliance and performing geotechnical risk assessments/hazard management, including monitoring systems and triggers for major geotechnical hazards.
  • •6 years of experience with GroundProbe and IDS radar systems, design review tools (MineSight, Leapfrog, Vulcan), and data aggregation/reporting tools (GeoExplorer, Power BI, Tableau).
