Key Responsibilities

  • •Work with the Bridge & Infrastructure Inspection team on inspection-related projects including bridge, tunnel, and ancillary inspections.
  • •Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections, including assisting with bridge and tunnel load ratings.
  • •Assist with development of plans/sketches using AutoCAD/Microstation and support preliminary design calculations and analysis.
  • •Support project research, field work, preliminary design calculations, and collection/maintenance of project documentation.
  • •Assist with cost proposals and scope of work documents and provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • •Nationally Certified Bridge Inspector (NCBI) certification (FHWA-approved training) and Certified Bridge Safety Inspector (CBSI) through PennDOT, both current.
  • •5+ years of experience in bridge, tunnel, or ancillary inspection/design or other infrastructure-related work.
  • •Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • •Proficiency in structural engineering principles and ability to complete continuous field work, including working at heights and in adverse weather.
