Key Responsibilities

  • •Coordinate, review, and approve HVAC and mechanical system design plans for data integrity and compliance with mechanical codes and standards such as ASHRAE and FGI.
  • •Apply advanced mechanical/HVAC engineering methods to identify system improvements across design and construction administration phases.
  • •Plan future-ready and decarbonization-ready HVAC strategies, including energy-efficient architectures and advanced ventilation airflow concepts.
  • •Oversee overall HVAC system design and consulting construction administration, including air-handling systems, chilled water/steam systems, hydronic piping, exhaust systems, and Building Control Systems.
  • •Oversee cross-functional engineering teams and provide business development support through client relationship management and pursuit efforts.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline).
  • •12+ years of relevant post-education experience in mechanical and HVAC system design across healthcare, lab, higher education, and commercial environments.
  • •Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
  • •Extensive knowledge of HVAC system design, including pressurization strategies, ventilation/air change requirements, humidity control, filtration, and specialized exhaust/ventilation systems.
  • •Ability to perform HVAC computations and calculations, interpret drawings/specifications, and ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
