Job Summary

Own major gift fundraising for Craft Education by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding foundations, corporations, and individual donors. Manage a portfolio of about 100–125 prospects, advance donors through the gift cycle with thorough documentation in the donor management system, and develop proposals aligned to fundraising priorities. Deliver persuasive presentations, collaborate with internal Advancement and Craft teams, and complete 12–15 personal visits monthly with up to 25% travel.

Key Responsibilities

•Independently identify and manage a portfolio of 100–125 prospects/donors for Craft Education.
•Progress major gift prospects through the gift cycle and document interactions, outcomes, strategies, and rationales in the donor management system.
•Engage prospective donors, build trust-based relationships, and develop proposals aligned to fundraising priorities and donor investment interests.
•Collaborate with the WGU Advancement and Craft Education teams and other stakeholders to develop targeted engagement opportunities and ensure proposals are well prepared and vetted.
•Report donor activity and strategy regularly, adhere to processes/deadlines/budgets/policies, and maintain a positive, constructive problem-solving approach.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree.
•Six (6) years of experience cultivating and soliciting major gifts plus fundraising and relationship management experience.
•2 years of experience in major gifts at a scaled, accredited higher education institution or a workforce development/economic-mobility nonprofit or foundation.
•Experience cultivating, closing, and stewarding six-figure gifts with national partners.
•General knowledge of Advancement programs and processes; familiarity with apprenticeship programs and related funding mechanisms.
