Key Responsibilities

  • •Safety culture and performance: ensure safety is the primary concern of all team members, carry out risk assessments and enforce safety controls, and encourage reporting of incidents and near misses with regular safety observations.
  • •Stakeholder relationships: coordinate work-winning and business development activities, develop relationships with public sector and contractor clients, and lead the production of proposals and reviews of commercial proposals.
  • •Quality control: ensure data accuracy and forecasting for the Regional Lead for Tunnelling, including safety, financial performance and work pipeline indicators.
  • •Leadership: define and influence workplace culture, set communication standards, and raise morale, productivity and team efficiency in a supportive environment.
  • •Collaboration: establish clear team ethos and values, foster collaboration and inclusive work environment, set goals and rewards, and manage client/industry relationships to position AECOM for tenders.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree educated or equivalent in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, coupled with post graduate experience in a Leadership role with a Tunnelling team.
  • •Chartered Engineer (EI, ICE, IStructE or equivalent recognized professional institution)
  • •Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills
  • •Previous experience in rock and soft ground and encompassing tunnels, shafts and deep excavations for transportation, energy and utility related schemes.
  • •Experience working on large, multi-disciplinary projects and an ability to engage with and understand the requirements of different disciplines and interfaces; capable of roles such as Technical Lead, Design Manager or Project Manager and leading bids.
