Job Summary

Perform certified DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to moderate trailer repairs in an on-site shop environment. Tackle repairs involving trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps/engines, liftgates, brake chambers, welding, fabrication, and replacement of panels/body/framework under supervision as needed. Maintain safe work practices, complete documentation and repair orders (including photos), and coordinate parts and approvals with the service team and shop manager.

Key Responsibilities

•Follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.
•Independently determine required parts and coordinate with the shop parts department to obtain them.
•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and certified DOT inspections, including follow-up repairs for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in the shop.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer equipment and systems such as aluminum/chem-lite, trailer brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, brake chambers, and steering systems.
•Document work on repair orders (including uploading photos) and accurately complete DOT and company documentation while complying with OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 24.23 - 36.35 hourly

Key Requirements

•High school diploma/GED and 3 years of experience in a related field.
•Alternative qualifications may include an additional degree/certification beyond high school/GED or 5 years of related experience.
•Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the role.
•OEM training and certifications are preferred.
•Must be able to pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical; maintain a current valid DOT medical card (or complete DOT physical when required).
