Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently determine parts required for each job and coordinate with the Shop Parts Department.
  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections, including follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a shop environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair trailer equipment and systems (including brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps and engines, liftgates, steering systems, welding/fabrication, and replacement of panels/body/framework).
  • •Complete and document work using company standards: repair orders (including uploading photos/findings), DOT forms, and other required documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination with degree/certification beyond HS/GED, or 5 years’ related experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Ability to complete DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a DOT medical card with required remaining validity).
  • •Due to interstate operating authority, must be at least 21 years or older and hold a valid state-of-residence driver’s license with an updatable Driver Qualification File.
  • •Required certifications: ASE T8 (PMI) certification; preferred: ASE T4 (Brakes), T5 (Suspension), T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems), T7 (HVAC), and ASE 608/609 (within requirements or obtained).
