Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop thermal system concepts, design, and design verification for heat exchanger and fluid-flow components used in refrigeration and commercial HVAC products.
  • •Help conduct technology, productivity, and new product development projects to improve function, reliability, or cost of heat transfer components.
  • •Develop and improve design tools and processes for integrating new heat exchange components across commercial HVAC product lines.
  • •Perform and document engineering analysis to design and verify performance and reliability of HVAC components and products.
  • •Plan and direct laboratory tests, coordinate with suppliers for component designs, and support short-duration ad hoc engineering teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and at least 2 years of engineering work experience.
  • •Professional Engineer or a Master’s degree in Engineering (plus).
  • •Fundamental knowledge of vapor compression HVAC technologies and components using HCFC, HFC, and HFO refrigerants.
  • •Knowledge of single- and two-phase fluid flow for air-to-refrigerant and water-to-refrigerant evaporators and condensers, including physical-based performance models.
  • •Ability to apply computer simulation tools and theory to HVAC system design.
