Job Summary

Lead and develop a team of fire engineers in a Defence-focused, multi-disciplinary environment. Oversee large, complex Defence projects, ensure regulatory compliance and client satisfaction, mentor staff towards Chartership, and drive technical input across studies and designs while growing the Fire Engineering portfolio for a UK office.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and manage the team in terms of Defence workload management, project delivery and performance.
•Oversee the successful delivery of large, complex Defence projects, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and client expectations.
•Collaborate with multi-discipline teams and national leadership to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to high quality standards.
•Lead performance and review process for the team by setting and monitoring SMART goals for team members.
•Carry out staff appraisals and contribute to professional development plans and PDPs for staff.

Key Requirements

•Extensive experience in a large, multi-disciplinary environment.
•Comprehensive knowledge of UK standards and guidance (ADB, BS 9991/9999/9992, HTM 05-02, BB100).
•Defence standards knowledge (JSP 80, DIFS).
•Proficiency with fire engineering tools (FDS, SFE, evacuation modelling).
•Membership in professional institutions (MIFireE) and/or NFPA CFPE; BEng/MEng or MSc in fire science/engineering.
