Job Summary

Supervise and coordinate grading crews to complete rough and finish grading, slope work, and other excavating tasks safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Operate grading equipment as needed, inspect equipment before and after shifts, and ensure all grading work meets specifications through the construction process. Manage jobsite needs by communicating materials, equipment, and staffing to the Superintendent, complete required paperwork, and oversee safety responsibilities while traveling around Austin and Central Texas.

Key Responsibilities

•Coordinate, plan, and supervise grading crews to keep work safe, efficient, and on schedule.
•Operate equipment to perform rough grade, finish grade, slope work, and other excavating operations.
•Inspect equipment before use and at the end of each shift.
•Inform the Superintendent of construction needs (materials, equipment, and staffing) to avoid delays.
•Inspect grading work throughout the construction process to ensure it meets specifications.

Key Requirements

•3-5 years’ experience in finish or fine grade operation with an excavator or motor grader, or related experience and training.
•Knowledge of surveying and exposure to technical survey systems such as GPS and robotics.
•Ability to understand grade stakes and read project plans and specifications.
•Valid Driver’s license required.
•Frontline safety responsibilities and the ability to oversee and manage grading crews.
