Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical support to maintenance and operations, including process studies, troubleshooting, process optimization, and maintaining historical data to monitor and control key operating parameters.
  • •Work on capital permits, projects, and engineering studies to support plant goals.
  • •Manage projects up to $50k with durations of 1–2 years while complying with ethics, safety, and engineering standards.
  • •Conduct process training and ensure documentation is up to date when projects are completed.
  • •Support plant safety initiatives by helping design or redesign work processes to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses, and assess new technologies to improve process efficiency and capability.

Key Requirements

  • •Currently be enrolled as a student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program (undergraduate must have completed at least three years of coursework and be a junior, senior, or non-graduating senior).
  • •Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA preferred.
  • •Ability to work 40 hours per week during the term.
  • •Ability to learn the corn wet milling process and understand the systems and principles behind its operation.
  • •Experience with PC applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and strong communication skills for written reports and presentations.
