Job Summary

Develop and evolve Linux operating system software for ByteDance’s datacenter servers and third-party cloud environments. Work with the System Technology and Engineering global team to build and maintain OS-related quality testing, deployment, and maintenance systems, troubleshoot storage/network components at the OS level, and optimize monitoring, upgrades, and cluster tools. Support new hardware platforms spanning CPU, GPU, networking, and storage.

Key Responsibilities

•Combine software and systems to build and run large-scale, fault-tolerant systems and ensure critical and external system reliability.
•Troubleshoot at the system software level, including operating system components such as storage and network.
•Improve and optimize automatic operating system monitoring plus software deployment and upgrading.
•Support new hardware platforms by evolving system software for CPU, GPU, network, and storage devices.
•Optimize AlOps tools for large-scale clusters.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related majors.
•Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms, multiple-threading programming, and server performance optimization.
•Working knowledge of operating systems and IT.
•Proficiency with Linux shell commands.
•Familiarity with C or C++ and expertise with Python, Go, Rust, or (truncated as) Cud.
