Job Summary

Drive strategic sourcing, supplier development, and cost management for the Connected Warfare product portfolio across its lifecycle. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to select suppliers, scope concepts, run trade-offs and clean-sheet models, manage manufacturing BOMs, CAPEX, and component qualifications, and assess BOM risks. Optimize supply network lead time and flexibility through value-stream mapping, complexity reduction, and cost engineering to maximize total cost of ownership.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct supplier selection for specific products using the approved supplier list.
•Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development, including concept scoping, trade-off trade tables, should-cost/clean-sheet models, joint design development (statements of work), and simulation of mechanical/electronics designs.
•Develop and consolidate manufacturing BOMs with Quality and Manufacturing to ramp production internally and with suppliers.
•Manage CAPEX throughout NPI, run value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility, and perform BOM risk assessment with alternate component sourcing.
•Lead cost engineering activities to converge the bottoms-up cost curve to product cost and manage ad-hoc cost issues (e.g., tariffs/import-export cost and cost inflation).

Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or other technical field.
•3+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement/development, or design of mechanical and/or electrical devices.
•Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component and product level.
•Ability to travel 10% - 40% of the time based on program needs.
•Ability to relocate to be onsite in Costa Mesa, CA if not already local.
