Job Summary

Build and run global infrastructure for video transmission and multimedia processing at ByteDance, supporting billions of users worldwide. Own production system management including monitoring, incident response, capacity planning, and sustainable scaling through automation. Key Responsibilities

•Build global infrastructure for multi-media transport, storage, and processing to serve billions of users.
•Manage production systems globally, including monitoring, emergency response, capacity planning, and optimization.
•Develop tools, automations, visualizations, and monitors to facilitate operations and optimization.
•Improve the full service lifecycle from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement.
•Scale systems sustainably using automation and initiate changes to improve reliability and processing speed.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical background in software/system engineering, or equivalent experience.
•Extensive knowledge of SRE responsibilities including monitoring, incident handling, capacity management, and disaster recovery.
•Extensive knowledge of networking, operating systems, database systems, and container technology.
•Understanding of microservice architecture and hands-on troubleshooting in large-scale distributed systems.
•Programming experience with at least one: C, C++, Java, Python, or Go; plus experience with open-source systems and cloud services is a plus.
