Key Responsibilities

•Safely drive the Yard Jockey truck to organize trailers and stage shipping loads on-site in various weather conditions.
•Complete daily equipment inspection sheets and inspect equipment to ensure safe operating conditions.
•Load and unload trucks as needed to assist with production; may also operate a forklift when required.
•Secure loads and/or inspect loads to ensure they are properly secured.
•Maintain shipping documents and required paperwork; maintain radio contact with base or supervisor for instructions and verify document accuracy.

Key Requirements

•Must be 18 years of age.
•Minimum completed education: 12th-grade basic education.
•At least 6 months of experience driving a commercial vehicle or yard jockey truck.
•Working knowledge of vehicle parts and ability to handle minor repairs to keep equipment operational.
•CDL license required; successful completion of the forklift driver licensing process within 4 months of hire; ability to pass a driving test/skills evaluation in a yard jockey truck.
