Key Responsibilities

•Lead bridge inspections for local clients as part of the Bridges team in Basingstoke, operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer grade.
•Undertake principal, general and special inspections of bridges and other structures to assess condition and safety.
•Provide technical input to projects, briefs and proposals, ensuring compliance with health, safety, welfare and CDM responsibilities.
•Produce clear engineering deliverables (reports, calculations, sketches, specifications) with minimal supervision.
•Utilize tablet-based inspection and surveying software to capture data and generate auditable reports.

Key Requirements

•Experience of undertaking Principal Inspection, General Inspections and Special Inspections of Bridges and other Structures to DMRB and Network Rail standards.
•Experience in the production of clear and concise engineering deliverables with minimum supervision, including written reports, calculations, sketches and specifications.
•Experience of using tablet-based inspection and surveying software (Training will be provided for bespoke software and systems).
•STE04 competency for Network Rail inspections or Highways Bridge Inspector Certification Scheme (BICS) qualification or motivation to work towards STE04 with mentoring/training and support.
•PTS certification is welcome.
