Job Summary

Lead static and dynamic cabin stress analyses for Airbus aircraft cabins and cargo systems, using hand calculations and FEM (Nastran, LS-Dyna, Abaqus, Radioss, Hyperworks) to ensure regulatory compliance and safety. Responsible for reviewing supplier substantiation, coordinating with design teams and suppliers, mentoring junior analysts, and delivering on schedule in a high-precision, onsite Mobile engineering center.

Key Responsibilities

•Autonomously perform complex detailed stress analysis of cabin or cargo components, by classical hand analysis as well as Finite Element methods, to support the structural design efforts of new and modified components from the conceptual phase to development and certification.
•Review supplier stress substantiation reports to ensure compliance to aircraft design requirements and sign-off data.
•Coordinate with design engineers, suppliers and technical leads to ensure the design meets project timelines with an optimum design solution.
•Set broad objectives with timelines and establish the tasks required and how they should be completed.
•Mentor less experienced structural analysts and provide leadership and guidance on a range of problems.

Key Requirements

•BS in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical) with emphasis on structural and/or systems design
•Minimum thirteen (13) years total design experience in cabin and cargo and/or system installation projects
•Strong capability with Finite Modeling of Structures using implicit/explicit methods (Nastran, LS-Dyna, Abaqus, Radioss, Altair Hyperworks) and hand calculations
•Experience reviewing supplier stress substantiation reports to ensure compliance to aircraft design requirements and sign-off data; ability to coordinate with design engineers, suppliers and technical leads
•Onsite work at Airbus facilities (onsite 100%); ability to travel as needed
