Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform preventive maintenance and repairs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on trailers and equipment with little or no supervision.
  • •Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical components and trailer systems, including brakes, air lines, auxiliary pumps/engines, liftgates, and brake chambers.
  • •Complete DOT forms and repair order documentation, including uploading pictures of work, parts used, and findings using a company-issued iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application.
  • •Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle, including safety checks and daily pre-/post-trip inspections, and manage parts inventory with periodic reconciliation.
  • •Respond to call-center dispatched unscheduled service requests and perform scheduled preventative maintenance in a mobile/field environment while following safety procedures and federal regulations.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (trailers), or an equivalent combination such as a higher-level degree/certification or 5 years’ experience.
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for required job duties.
  • •Be able to successfully complete and pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and a DOT physical (or submit a valid DOT medical card with sufficient remaining validity).
  • •Current valid DOT medical card and ability to meet FMCSA requirements (including being at least 21 years or older).
  • •Obtain required/selected certifications, including ASE T8 (PMI), and optionally hold preferred ASE certifications (e.g., brakes, suspension, electrical, HVAC).
