Key Responsibilities

  • •Command the marine vessel and supervise navigation and maneuvering according to approved maritime procedures and regulations.
  • •Verify vessel readiness, including equipment, navigation devices, and safety equipment, before trips and during operations.
  • •Apply maritime safety requirements and emergency/evacuation procedures to manage incidents and maritime hazards.
  • •Monitor weather/sea conditions and navigational suitability, and take preventive actions as needed.
  • •Supervise crew members, ensure compliance with operating and safety procedures, keep voyage and technical logs, and report incidents/faults to the direct supervisor.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a diploma (0–2 years) or a high school certificate (5 years) with relevant practical experience.
  • •Degree/field in maritime navigation, marine science, maritime transport, marine engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university.
  • •Ability to command and oversee vessel navigation and maneuvering in line with approved maritime procedures and regulations.
  • •Ensure the vessel, onboard equipment, navigation devices, and safety gear are ready before and during trips.
  • •Comply with maritime safety requirements, emergency procedures, evacuation processes, and incident handling.
