Key Responsibilities

  • •Translate functional/business requirements into DB2 database specifications.
  • •Provide production support and release management for Db2 environments, including building and supporting application database releases.
  • •Design, implement, and maintain physical database structures and configurations.
  • •Implement and manage RACF/ACF2 security rules, access controls, and authorization mechanisms for DB2.
  • •Deliver backup/recovery, high availability, replication, and root-cause resolution for database incidents; support migrations, upgrades, patching, and compliance activities.

Key Requirements

  • •Typically 8-12 years of hands-on experience administering DB2 databases in IBM z/Mainframe environments, including performance tuning, production support, security implementation, automation, disaster recovery, and releases.
  • •Deep understanding of Db2 database architecture plus backup and recovery procedures.
  • •Experience with production support and database release management.
  • •Expertise in database performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
