Key Responsibilities

•Install, test, and certify structured and patch panel cabling in a data center environment, including racking/stacking and patching between network equipment and the customer network.
•Install and inspect copper and optical cabling to IEEE and BICSI standards, including cleaning optical cabling and decommissioning obsolete cabling infrastructure.
•Test installed cables using a Fluke Versiv mainframe and support carrier testing of circuits.
•Install, troubleshoot, and de-install network equipment; perform cable swaps and handle moves, adds, and changes (MAC) within defined service levels.
•Perform layer 1 troubleshooting and provide infrastructure cabling break-fix services, including support for power/UPS restoral and emergency cooling and fire suppression restoration events.

Key Requirements

•2-5 years relevant experience, preferably including at least 1 year in a data center environment.
•In-depth knowledge of structured cabling and experience working in data centers and communications closets.
•Ability to clean and work with high-speed single- and multi-mode optical connections and safely handle long-range optical lasers.
•Knowledge and experience testing installed cables using a Fluke Versiv mainframe.
•Ability to follow cable patching processes/procedures and successfully troubleshoot layer 1 network concerns.
