Job Summary

Own cloud cost reporting and optimization across GCP and AWS, delivering weekly/monthly/ad-hoc dashboards, showback/chargeback models, and budget alerts. Drive rightsizing, discounts, cleanup, storage lifecycle, and network egress reduction while enforcing tagging taxonomy and cost allocation frameworks. Lead FinOps review meetings, build forecasting and anomaly detection, and collaborate with product/engineering to embed cost awareness in architecture and Kubernetes design. Support CloudOps/SRE activities and Datadog observability.

Key Responsibilities

•Own cloud cost reporting across GCP and AWS using weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc dashboards for engineering and business stakeholders.
•Drive cloud cost optimization through rightsizing, committed use discounts, idle resource cleanup, storage lifecycle policies, and network egress reduction.
•Design and enforce cloud tagging strategy and cost allocation frameworks, including automated compliance checks and handling untagged resources.
•Build showback/chargeback models, budget alerts, anomaly detection, and forecasting models to improve spend accountability.
•Lead monthly FinOps review meetings and partner with product and engineering to embed cost awareness early in architecture and feature design.

Key Requirements

•7+ years of cloud infrastructure or engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a dedicated FinOps, cloud cost management, or platform economics role.
•Hands-on GCP cost tooling experience (Billing export, Recommender, CUD analysis).
•Proven track record delivering measurable cloud cost savings and ability to discuss results with numbers.
•Strong communication skills to explain cloud cost anomalies clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
•Experience building and maintaining cloud tagging strategies and cost allocation frameworks, with comfort in Kubernetes (node pools and resource limits).
