Key Responsibilities

  • •Own cloud cost reporting across GCP and AWS using weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc dashboards for engineering and business stakeholders.
  • •Drive cloud cost optimization through rightsizing, committed use discounts, idle resource cleanup, storage lifecycle policies, and network egress reduction.
  • •Design and enforce cloud tagging strategy and cost allocation frameworks, including automated compliance checks and handling untagged resources.
  • •Build showback/chargeback models, budget alerts, anomaly detection, and forecasting models to improve spend accountability.
  • •Lead monthly FinOps review meetings and partner with product and engineering to embed cost awareness early in architecture and feature design.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of cloud infrastructure or engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a dedicated FinOps, cloud cost management, or platform economics role.
  • •Hands-on GCP cost tooling experience (Billing export, Recommender, CUD analysis).
  • •Proven track record delivering measurable cloud cost savings and ability to discuss results with numbers.
  • •Strong communication skills to explain cloud cost anomalies clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • •Experience building and maintaining cloud tagging strategies and cost allocation frameworks, with comfort in Kubernetes (node pools and resource limits).
