Job Summary

Own New Product Introduction (NPI) for mechanical and thermal components by ensuring seamless integration of design and manufacturing processes. You’ll work with hardware engineering teams and suppliers from conception through mass production, driving manufacturability, quality, cost, and yield impacts. Lead supplier process flow, perform qualification surveys/audits, manage DFM/MFD solutions, and use statistical process control (SPC) data to improve efficiency, capacity readiness, and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage consumer NPI mechanical/thermal component qualification, manufacturing technology management, and mass production readiness.
•Represent Operations in early product life cycle and provide manufacturability, quality, cost, and yield impact information to design, sourcing, and manufacturing engineering teams.
•Ensure clear product specifications (CMF, cosmetic spec, 2D drawing, reliability requirements) and support manufacturability feasibility analysis with risk mitigation.
•Lead suppliers to establish efficient fabrication process flow and drive solutions to issues affecting mass production.
•Use SPC data to drive yield and efficiency improvement actions, monitor production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.

Key Requirements

•B.S. degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (M.S. preferred) and 3+ years of consumer product design experience.
•In-depth knowledge of industrial design decoration manufacturing technology capability, material selection, and tooling/mold technologies.
•Hands-on proficiency in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to provide data-driven product design suggestions.
•Ability to analyze problems from multiple perspectives and apply practical knowledge of system assembly, system testing, and tolerance capability.
•Working knowledge of modern mechanical design tools, preferably Creo or SolidWorks, plus familiarity with testing and inspection methods.
