Job Summary

Provide non-medical, short-term MFLC counseling and support to military service members and families at Camp Lejeune, MCAS New River, or Camp Geiger. Deliver training and health/wellness presentations, maintain secure reporting, and collaborate with installation POCs to meet the needs of diverse military communities across multiple on-base locations.

Job Function: Legal, Risk & Compliance

Key Responsibilities

•Provide non-medical, short-term, walk-around counseling directly to eligible service members and families at assigned locations (assessment, brief counseling, referral, and follow-up).
•Deliver training and health/wellness presentations and participate in base activities as directed.
•Enter counselor activity data daily via smartphone or web application while maintaining client confidentiality.
•Establish and maintain relationships with community resources and coordinate with POC to address installation needs.
•Respond to critical incidents, surge requests, and on-demand events as directed by the POC and program manager.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in a mental health field (e.g., social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, counseling)
•Valid unrestricted independent counseling license from a state/district/territory that allows independent practice
•Less than 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience
•Ability to engage with military members and families and work at various installations and schools
•US citizenship and fluency in English
