Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain and promote Tyson’s safety culture while performing general maintenance throughout the plant.
  • •Perform assigned maintenance tasks, including welding, cutting, and minor electrical repairs.
  • •Replace and repair mechanical components such as motor shafts, couplings, pumps, augers, and water/steam pipes and related lines.
  • •Operate and use required tools and equipment, including electrical and pneumatic power tools.
  • •May monitor boiler operation and perform chemical testing; may read drawings and schematics for hydraulic and basic electrical systems.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 1 year of maintenance/mechanical experience and 6 months of continuous employment in the last 2 years.
  • •Basic mechanical or maintenance skills with knowledge of welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics, and plumbing.
  • •Able to read and understand assignments and communicate orally and in writing.
  • •Able to use basic hand tools and various electrical and pneumatic power tools/equipment.
  • •Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting 50 pounds and climbing stairs/ladders up to 60 feet; must be certified to operate various gas/hydraulic motors/lifts.
