Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain SEM performance and maximum availability through repairs, setup, and calibrations.
  • •Develop and calibrate mineralogical databases to improve analysis quality (including 0% unclassified results in Kansanshi stream analyses).
  • •Lead SEM data management workflow streamlining, including SOPs for data consistency, traceability, archiving, and access.
  • •Conduct projects to assess SEM analytical performance (accuracy, precision, reproducibility) to reach international best standards.
  • •Support teams through sample preparation assistance, training mineralogy team members, and using mineralogical results for plant diagnostics.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process/Metallurgical Engineering or Geology with demonstrable expertise in Mineralogy.
  • •Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a mineralogical laboratory with strong SEM knowledge.
  • •Experience in data management using Microsoft applications like PowerBI and Excel.
  • •Must be a member of the engineering institute of Zambia as per Act No. 27 of 1992.
  • •Excellent communication skills for daily discussions and proven experience coaching and knowledge transfer.
