Job Summary

We are seeking Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Engineers and Designers at junior, mid, and senior levels to join our growing team across the southern US. You’ll work on MOT design for highway projects, including cross sections, traffic control plans, and detour routes, using Bentley MicroStation/Open Roads, on design/build or alternative delivery projects within a hybrid Charlotte-area office setup.

Job Function: Field Service, Maintenance & Skilled Trades

Key Responsibilities

•Perform MOT design tasks including creating design packages for highway improvement projects; develop Cross Sections and Typical Cross Sections; prepare Traffic Control Plans, Profiles, and Detour Routes
•Collaborate with civil engineers and designers on project execution, ensuring compliance with design standards and delivery timelines
•Utilize Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads to develop and refine MOT designs and documentation
•Mentor junior staff and lead tasks on assigned MOT projects
•Contribute to proposal development and support other MOT engineers on mega-projects

Key Requirements

•BS Degree or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience (MOT CAD Designers)
•BS in Engineering + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency (Junior Level Engineers)
•BS in Engineering + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency (Mid-Level Engineers)
•BS in Engineering + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency (Senior Level Engineers / Task Leads)
•Preferred qualifications: EIT Certification or PE License; Master’s degree in engineering
