Job Summary

Deliver heavy equipment safely and on schedule from EquipmentShare’s rental facility in Bakersfield, using real-time technology to access fleet locations, work orders, and delivery details. Operate per transportation regulations, handle loading/unloading with proper equipment and paperwork, and perform routine checks. Work Monday–Friday with overtime after 40 hours and on-call scheduling as needed, supporting construction customers across the region.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
•Transport loads safely and timely over required routes, obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
•Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas, follow loading crew signals, and assist with loading and unloading using specialized equipment when warranted.
•Maintain and deliver required documentation (invoices, shipping bills of lading) to the shipping office or appropriate staff after completing the route.
•Facilitate routine truck service (e.g., checking oil, water, gasoline, air) and report maintenance malfunctions; arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•Must hold either a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license appropriate for the weight of the vehicle to be operated.
•Must be able to pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state transportation regulations.
•Must pass DOT physical, since trucks driven are over 10k lbs.
•Must be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.
•Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff.
