Job Summary

Support the design and delivery of lineside rail infrastructure projects by producing accurate 2D/3D rail-civils drawings and BIM models. Create and check multidisciplinary models, apply CAD/BIM standards, and follow CAD QA practices. Use MicroStation and BIM tools for clash detection and visual coordination, and manage drawings/models through ProjectWise with proper document control and naming conventions. Coordinate with rail disciplines and respond to technical queries using survey and topographical inputs.

Key Responsibilities

•Produce accurate 2D rail-civils drawings to UK standards and develop/check 2D and 3D models for multidisciplinary rail projects.
•Apply CAD QA processes, CRA-V practices, structured drawing checks, and work through the full CAD lifecycle (site data to model to drawing to QA).
•Create 3D MicroStation models and generate long sections, cross sections, and cut-through views to reflect design changes and interfaces.
•Support BIM-aligned multidisciplinary model coordination and perform/aid visual clash detection within the 3D environment.
•Navigate ProjectWise to manage check-in/out, version control, workflow management, and compliance with naming conventions and document control for UK and international rail projects.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Civil or a Civil Engineering diploma, or equivalent industry experience.
•5–8 years’ experience in rail infrastructure.
•Current competencies with relevant rail authorities (e.g., Network Rail, London Underground).
•Ability to work on 3D MicroStation, AECOsim/OpenBuilding Designer, AutoCAD, and Revit using defined CAD & BIM standards.
•Perform clash detection using Navisworks or iTwin. Build strong working relationships and work independently or in a team.
