Job Summary

Staff Data Scientist to guide product strategy through data-driven insights, design metrics and ETL, and drive experimentation. You’ll mentor junior data scientists, build self-serve analytics tools for product and engineering, and collaborate across product, design, and data teams to scale impact across Reddit’s Consumer Data Science org.

Key Responsibilities

•Identify opportunities to attract new users, increase engagement, and drive retention to shape long-term product strategy.
•Influence strategic roadmaps through data-driven insights into user behaviors and needs.
•Design metrics to evaluate health of the business and product success, including ETL development for robust analysis.
•Lead experimentation from design through execution and analysis to maximize learnings and guide future investment decisions.
•Develop self-serve analytics tools for product and engineering partners to improve data literacy and answer common questions.

Key Requirements

•Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research
•For M.S. holders: 10+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles
•For Ph.D. holders: 6+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science roles
•Expert knowledge of SQL and relational databases
•Familiarity with statistical analysis and the preferred programming languages of the team (R / Python)
