Key Responsibilities

  • •Organize and manage internal Shari’a audit assignments according to Internal Shari’a audit plans and provide reasonable assurance to management that non‑Shari’a compliance risk is mitigated.
  • •Oversee risk-based Shari’a audit planning: define Shari’a risks and controls, draft/revise Shari’a audit programs, and compile/review supervisory committee resolutions for incorporation.
  • •Lead complex audits independently or act as project leader on standard audits, including sample selection, assignment planning memorandum, and timely completion of working papers and handover to the team leader.
  • •Coordinate with Shari’a IT project team/IT division to develop or improve reports required for audit assignments, and support exceptions handling and client responses within policy timelines.
  • •Provide guidance to Shari’a auditors, maintain compliance with audit standards, protect audit documents, and train new/existing staff on Shari’a and audit approach.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor in Sharia or Islamic Economics or Islamic Banking.
  • •CISSA and CIPA certifications (or alternative certifications).
  • •5 to 10 years’ experience.
  • •Ability to communicate in Arabic & English.
  • •IT skills.
