Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead OSINT-driven investigations into sextortion actors, identifying aliases, personas, infrastructure, communication channels, and links across victims and campaigns.
  • •Follow the money across payment rails used in cases, including consumer payment apps, gift cards, and crypto-enabled flows, and draft/work legal processes to act on findings.
  • •Pivot on selectors (e.g., handles, phone numbers, emails, usernames, images, domains, accounts, or crypto addresses) to expand a report into the surrounding network.
  • •Produce actionable targeting packages that connect OSINT findings, financial evidence, and victim reporting to enable law-enforcement action, platform takedowns, and infrastructure disruption.
  • •Validate time-sensitive victim and infrastructure signals and move high-confidence matters through the escalation workflow, supporting victim safety outreach when needed.

Key Requirements

  • •5-7 years of investigative experience across OSINT, cybercrime, crypto investigations, asset recovery, law enforcement, trust and safety, blockchain analytics, or equivalent.
  • •Law-enforcement experience as a current, former, or retired professional (e.g., sworn officers, investigators, or task-force officers), ideally with state/local/federal investigations such as ICAC or related teams.
  • •Demonstrated OSINT skills to identify online actors, aliases, accounts, infrastructure, communication patterns, and operational networks.
  • •Financial-investigations experience following payment methods used in cases (payment apps, gift cards, and crypto-enabled flows) to develop leads and document what matters.
  • •Working knowledge of legal processes including preservation requests, subpoenas, and 2703(d) orders, to draft requests and move from selector to investigative lead quickly.
