Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide project technical support and lead design for overhead transmission projects across multi-disciplinary assignments.
  • •Support overhead line design delivery including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis, loading trees, and sag-tension calculations.
  • •Produce and check engineering deliverables such as designs, reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages, including internal quality checks.
  • •Conduct feasibility studies and perform conductor thermal ratings to identify preferred solution/layout options for clients.
  • •Provide technical input during project implementation, statutory planning, and public consultation events, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering).
  • •Experience delivering transmission projects for operators such as National Grid, SSE and SPT in line with their standards.
  • •Project experience in overhead line engineering (ideally up to 400kV).
  • •Chartered or Professional Engineer status (or working towards it) is preferred.
  • •Ability to coordinate across disciplines and review detailed technical outputs to a high standard.
